The CrossFit Games is broken up into three stages. The first step is The Open, a worldwide online competition that kicks off in February. All CrossFitters at every level are encouraged to compete. It’s basically our annually test see how much we’ve improved. Most of us don’t worry too much about where we actually end up ranking but more about improving our ranking from previous years.
Can You Do It?
Our focus is on FUN. We want participation because it will make you fitter, and it will get you high-fives and you’ll be happy and love life more and glow and stuff.
The entire point of the Open is to put your best effort in and see where you end up, then try to improve the following year. There will be events and movements that you struggle with and some that you excel at. Even if you don’t Rx every CrossFit Wylie workout, you can compete in the Open. There is even scaled options for each workout!

Our goal at CrossFit Wylie is to educate and inspire. Competition helps with the inspiration, the pressure to perform pushes you to train harder; the social boost of dozens of your best friends cheering for you will help you reach a higher plane. Heck, watching your teammates GO is inspiring.
CrossFit Wylie’s WOD each Friday during the Open will be the weekly Open workout. Each week, we have Friday Night Lights for Open registered athletes. Everyone will do the workout in organized, judged heats, the atmosphere will be exciting, and the volume will be turned up!
If you cannot attend the Friday Night session, you simply have to complete the workout with a judge and coach present and submit your score by the deadline each week.
